• Overall lab operations at the designated site.
• Evaluating and improving services through implementation of new policies, procedures and equipment.
• Operating the department within established budget guidelines, ensuring proper coverage and maintaining all compliance guidelines.
• Providing patient testing and associated clerical work for neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric inpatients and outpatients.
• Insuring adequate supplies, proper training of new personnel/students, organizing employees and evaluating assigned employees.
• Scheduling employees in department/shift according to proper test authorizations, ensuring testing is done in a timely manner.
• Ensuring accrediting agency guidelines are followed, enforcing safety and infection control policies, coordinating QA and process.
