RN Pre Op/PACU

Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence is hiring a RN Pre Op/PACU. We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in GI, Orthopedic, and Pain. The position requires weekdays only—no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule is subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

The Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation;

assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Responsibilities

Provide continuity and quality nursing care for All patients in Pre Op and PACU. Evaluate patient condition continuously, ensuring safety and comfort. Assist physicians with sedation and sterile techniques during procedures. Deliver comprehensive post‑anesthesia care and prepare patients and families for discharge.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center
  • 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
