The Service Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the service department. He/she will oversee and conduct scheduling, material ordering, planning, expediting, quality control, and total delivery of the project according to established criteria. He/she will proactively coordinate material and equipment, communicate with Customers, and make sure that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
Job Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a weekly labor schedule and outlook to efficiently manage the field service team.
- Schedule and dispatch technicians, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
- Assure proper manpower is scheduled for each project to maximize productivity.
- Work directly with field staff and customers to achieve optimal safety and maximum efficiency on projects.
- Communicate with Management regarding changes in projects that may impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements.
- Direct and coordinate activities of multiple projects.
- Maintain contact with all technicians on assignment as well as maintain their status and location.
- Enter, update and retrieve information via multiple computer programs.
- Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and logs of all telephone calls and other records, files and information systems.
- Assist in the completion of special projects; if applicable.
- Have a can‑do attitude and willingness to help others.
- Broad working knowledge of the fire sprinkler construction industry.
- Capacity to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people.
- Exceptional ability to problem‑solve is required.
- A strong capability to motivate workers and communicate with them and other members of the team.
- Strong time management skills.
- Proficient in multi‑tasking.
- Knowledge of city and surrounding area.
- Good computer skills and ability to learn various programs that WSFP uses daily.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Moderate standing, sitting, walking, climbing, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching. Work in office and in the field, around moving objects and with vehicles and machinery with moving parts.
