Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating, and industrial/commercial services.
We are seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Entry Level Field Safety Technician in the Mid-Southeast Region. The Entry Level Field Safety Technician is based in Corpus Christi, Texas and will support operations throughout the area.
The Entry Level Field Safety Technician will provide strategic leadership in the development of safety and training execution to support a safe and profitable operation that strives to improve safety results. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong safety and training culture through risk reduction and injury prevention efforts, as well as ensuring compliance with Elliot policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
The Entry Level Field Safety Technician will report to the Mid-Southeast Director of Region Safety and will execute and document safety, training, and compliance tasks across the region. The candidate must collaborate with Corporate Safety and Training and Regional Management to identify and lead initiatives that drive continuous safety improvements.
Qualifications/Education/Experience Requirements:
The candidate should be able to organize, plan, delegate, lead, develop team members through coaching and performance improvement, motivate and influence all organizational levels, and maintain effective controls.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree with a safety focus OR 5+ years of electrical utility experience in a safety role. Distribution power line construction experience is preferred.
- Ability to organize, influence, and lead multi-functional teams and foster a proactive team environment.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and other federal and state regulations.
- Leadership experience.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
Expectations and Accountabilities:
- Lead safety, health, and training initiatives, aiming to achieve World Class safety objectives and foster continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and development for front-line and supervisory staff.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations, and meet Elliot reporting requirements.
- Implement safety initiatives that improve safety performance and build a culture where safety is valued.
- Identify and implement new methods to accelerate safety improvements.
