Job Description
Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is currently looking for a talented Senior Project Manager to join our Project Management Department in Corpus Christi, Texas. This is a great opportunity to get involved in interesting and challenging design projects for clients in the Oil, Gas, and Chemical process industries.
Responsibilities- Experience managing mid-large capital projects totaling more than $100MM TIC. Projects include brownfield, greenfield, retrofit, or debottlenecking/expansion in oil and gas, petrochemical, chemicals, biofuels, and renewable energy. Manage multiple engineering disciplines and vendor relationships from early phases through start-up and commissioning.
- Monitor, report, and control project costs and schedules through all phases. Understand gross margin and revenue management.
- Execute all aspects of the project, including staff management, providing vision and strategic leadership, monitoring schedules and budgets, evaluating productivity and quality, and directing technical operations.
- Experience managing and executing work with overseas High Value Engineering (HVE) offices in both vertical and horizontal models.
- Develop and implement administrative, technical and corporate procedures and policies to ensure profitable project operation.
- Direct and manage project personnel and support planning, scheduling, design quality, and execution.
- Assume responsibility for successful project execution in terms of schedule, budget, scope, and deliverables quality.
- Build relationships and coordinate with the client and project team; ensure client input and requirements are addressed per contractual requirements.
- Organize and supervise the implementation of project management systems and corporate quality systems.
- Maintain documentation describing commercial, technical, and financial correspondence; prepare and evaluate monthly progress reports with schedule, manpower expenditures, and work scope details.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing per contract; act as liaison between client and accounting on outstanding invoices.
- Champion Management of Change by identifying and documenting ECNs and processing additional work as needed.
- Develop new business opportunities as a by-product of client relationships; participate in business development meetings and drive growth of clientele.
- Plan and identify upcoming tasks, potential problem areas, technical needs, staffing priorities, and solutions where necessary.
- Maintain proper staff levels to meet project requirements; liaise with department managers for staffing; actively recruit and train personnel as needed.
- Develop, coach and track employee skill levels in technical and work management areas.
- Develop project proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and forecasts.
- Perform field walk-downs and data collection. Position requires field activities, some climbing, and occasional travel.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
- 15 to 20 years of experience in the Process Plant, Petroleum Refining, and/or Petrochemical sectors. Some Sustainable Energy experience is preferred.
- At least 8–10 years of experience as a Project Manager.
- Experience managing a portfolio of projects ranging from small to mid-cap, as well as mid-large cap standalone projects of $100MM TIC and up.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination and client/vendor communications.
- Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment, and take direction.
- Willingness to learn and work on tasks across multiple industries; willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
- Full and ongoing compliance with vaccination requirements as may be established by the company or job site.
- PE license is preferred.
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat, and software systems. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and use of PPE including hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear protection, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
Work EnvironmentThis position will be in the company office with potential work at a client site or construction environments. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high; job sites may include equipment, materials, and various personnel interactions.
