Job Summary
Drives the van to pick up bell ringers at Corps and transports them to designated work sites and back; drives the truck/van to and from homes, agencies, and churches to pick up gifts, stockings, etc.; loads and unloads gifts from the van to the Corps; lifts, carries, loads and unloads Christmas donations, gifts, stocks, etc.; ensures the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission, philosophy, culture, protocol, and organizational structure.
- Knowledge of the assigned geographic area.
- Ability to organize route in a manner that saves time and gasoline consumption.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and donors.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.
High School diploma or GED and a minimum of two years driving experience.
Physical Requirements /Working ConditionsAbility to meet attendance requirements; ability to read and communicate in English; operate commercial equipment; perform general cleaning activities; safely transport employees in a van; perform duties with understanding of mission, ministry, culture, and protocol; conduct duties with highest professionalism; continuous stooping, standing, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling 25–50 lbs and sometimes 50–100 lbs; work outdoors with exposure to weather, dirt, dust, odors.
