This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. This geography covers the areas surrounding:
San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Laredo.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in field sales, drive performance, effectively manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships and customer needs solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance. Place the patient at the center of efforts and operate within Abb Vie s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections and questions to close on calls where appropriate.
- Proactively and continuously aspire to serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements between Abb Vie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease areas, product, clinical and sales knowledge, and share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate Abb Vie s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
- Bachelors degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor s degree; at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven track record of success in selling and strong presentation skills. Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach accordingly. Offers innovative ideas to maximize business opportunities and demonstrates impact at the organizational level.
- Influences others and is viewed as a credible and respected resource among peers. Builds collaborative partnerships and demonstrates positive behaviors and coaching in changing environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience in roles with increased responsibility; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred:
Proven track record in sales performance within therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing is a plus. English proficiency verbally and in writing for non-English-speaking countries. - Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain access to facilities in the assigned territory. Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials.
- Credentials may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and licenses as required by state or city. You are responsible for satisfying all HCIR credentialing requirements.
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge and is recognized as an expert by stakeholders. Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Valid driver s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen; ability to drive a personal or company vehicle.
- External:
Specialty physicians in therapeutic brand areas, pharmacists, nurses, and other stakeholders depending on brand plan. - Internal:
In-field team members, Sales Management (DSM), Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, and Brand Plan stakeholders.
