Job Summary and Qualifications

Manages resources and provides leadership to accomplish departmental goals involving clinical aspects, i.e., Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Activity Therapist. The Manager of Inpatient services supervises care for all inpatient programs.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS: Collaborates effectively, courteously, and professionally with physicians, nurses, patients’ families and other clinical disciplines in decisions regarding each patient’s nursing care. Attends monthly Leadership meetings as appropriate.

What qualifications you will need:

Experience: Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Three (3) years of progressive management experience with at least six (6) years of hospital experience preferred.

Education: Graduate of accredited school of social work or licensed professional counseling and with a current licensure as a LMSW or LPC in the State of Texas.

Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate verbally, non‑verbally and in writing, i.e., email, in an effective manner. Ability to successfully manage stress. Has adopted and exhibits Customer Service Behaviors. Must be able to interact appropriately with patients and peers. Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Licensure in the appropriate mental health field as required.

  • Knowledge of growth and development over the life‑span and its implications on performing procedures.
  • Ability to assess data on patient records and orders in order to determine age‑related factors to consider.
  • Ability to communicate to patients in age‑appropriate manner and to appropriately involve significant others.
