*** General Purpose of Job:
** To perform a variety of patient food service by preparing patient trays and nourishment.
*

* Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
* Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
* Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
* Prepares special foods for regular and therapeutic diets as required by following individual patient menus.
* Prepares nourishment for patients as designated on nourishment sheet.
* Assembles prepared food on patient trays during trayline mealtimes
* Ensures all food items for meals and nourishments are prepared according to menu and delivered at appropriate times.
* Delivers carts to patient floors as specified.
* Prepares all “early” and “late” trays as required.
* Takes inventory of all nourishment food items kept in Nourishment Kitchens on each patient floor.
* Cleans refrigerators in Diet Kitchen on a daily basis, removing out-dated items and items not needed for the day’s menu.
* Replenishes beverages and foods needed on trayline.
* Performs special cleaning duties as scheduled.
* Attends all department and hospital in-services as assigned.
* Follows department policies and procedures for age appropriate diets and preparation of food items for patient trayline.
* Completes special cleaning assignments.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
** Education and/or

Experience:

*** High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
** Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
*** Food Handlers Permit
