The Mental Health Clinical Manager is responsible for clinical oversight of the day-to-day clinical operations and supervision of the counseling staff. Prepares the monthly Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) reports, conducts client record reviews to ensure documentation meets Cenikor & accreditation standards, and maintains facility accreditation compliance. The Clinical Manager ensures adolescent substance abuse treatment and services are provided to clients via appropriate training and management of clinical staff.
Clinical Manager also provides leadership and feedback to the clinical team on a consistent basis.
Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Essential Functions- Ensure the clinical treatment program is effectively administered and meets regulatory requirements including DSHS and CARF as well as Cenikor policy and procedure. Participate in the facility Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program.
- Enforce program policies and guidelines, including therapeutic community concepts, as outlined by Senior Regional Director.
- Supervise clinical staff and manage counselor caseloads to comply with licensure standards and funding requirements.
- Manage clinical treatment team members with groups in therapeutic activities. Has oversight of interventions of disturbed/aggressive behavior as soon as signs of disruptive behavior are recognized and/or reported. Participate as an active member in treatment team meetings, advising others of observations and recommendations.
- Identify services and support needed to address client problems and needs as identified in the client assessment.
- Work with the FD and Human Resource Department for staffing, training, employee relations issues, performance evaluations and maintenance of personnel files, documentation and licensure requirements for facility staff.
- Manage staffing schedules to maximize use of funding streams and ensure economic viability, increasing and decreasing hours to meet the needs of the client population.
- Oversee and evaluate the recording of client progress in the clinical record and ensure documentation is legible and complies with documentation standards.
- Ensure staff provides timely documentation and communication that meets the criteria for appropriate level of care according to clinical, medical, funding and billing.
- Monitor authorizations and time frames to ensure staff is providing treatment and treatment documentation according to billing/ insurance/ state requirements.
- Participate as a team member in providing an optimum environment for client recovery.
- Intervene as necessary on issues relating to client complaints, concerns and operational issues.
- Provide initial training and orientation as well as on-going leadership and support to all members of the clinical department to ensure that they have the tools necessary to carry out their job responsibilities.
- Ensure clinical staff completes all required reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure clinical staff remains informed of policy and regulatory changes and updates staff on changes as appropriate.
