Job Summary and Qualifications

Cath lab technician assists physician in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. Have a basic knowledge in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology including basic EKG. Able to explains and prepares patient for procedure. Monitor patient vital signs and Hemodynamics. Assist in using X-Ray equipment in fluoroscopy during procedure and aware of the radiation safety principle As Low As Reasonable Achievable (ALARA). Proficient in the safe operation of adjunct equipment including but not limited to IABP, IVUS, LVAD, Thrombectomy and Atherectomy devices during procedure.

Performs and Maintains record of equipment preventive maintenance. May also assist in other procedure as directed by the Department Director.

What you will do in this role:
  • You will be responsible for assisting the R.N. in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the Cath Lab patient.
  • You will be responsible to function in a call-out situation by scrubbing and running the table (x-ray).
  • You will ensure archiving and storage of digital data and maintains proper operation of image review stations.
  • You will perform post processing manipulation of digital data to supply physician with additional clinical data.
  • You will be able to function in a Code Blue situation.

What qualifications you will need:

  • (ARRT-R) Radiography
  • (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
  • Associate Degree
  • One year of experience required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, or CPR for Healthcare Providers, or Heart Saver CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
