The purpose of this position is to assist in meeting the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of a group of young children and model appropriate teaching and care‑giving practices for Child Development/Education (CDEC) students.

• Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.

• Knowledge of Texas Child Care Minimum Standards and developmentally appropriate teaching and care‑giving practices for children 18 months through 5 years.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in communicating with staff, parents, DMC students and faculty, and modeling appropriate language, vocabulary, and writing for children.

• Enrolled in 6 credit hours of Early Childhood courses while employed.
• Completion of 6 credit hours in Child Development or Early Education or a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (transcript required).
• Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification (documentation required).
• Food Handler’s Certificate (documentation required).
