Position Summary Information
The successful applicant will be expected to deliver high-quality instruction in assigned building maintenance and/or HVAC courses across various times and locations to meet institutional needs. The role focuses on advancing instructional excellence, assessing student performance, and supporting their progress toward achieving course outcomes and completing certificates or degrees.
Minimum Qualifications- One (1) year of advanced study or training past the high school diploma or GED equivalency AND one (1) year related experience in an HVAC or Building Maintenance setting.
- Three (3) years of related experience with Level 1 or Level 2 certifications in HVAC or Building Maintenance field.
- Five (5) years of related experience in an HVAC or Building Maintenance field.
- Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective Instructor and the aptitudes to assist both new and returning students achieve their educational goals and objectives.
- Ability to plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to ensure course content and objectives are met.
- Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate various learning styles of students.
- Ability to utilize instructional technologies including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
- Ten (10) years or more experience in HVAC or Building Maintenance field.

- Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.
- Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need.
- Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
- Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
- Engage in student outreach and recruitment through participation in community and school-sponsored events.
- Prepare course materials, including but not limited to: grade sheets, attendance rosters, evaluations and entering hours worked.
- Maintain daily attendance rosters.
- Submit final hard copies of daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department.
- Develop curriculum and instructor resources.
- Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus Guidelines and facilitates a clear understanding between student and instructor of the content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods and schedule of work.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course outcomes within college policy and procedures.
- Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials.
