Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual‑credit/early college classes.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the fields of Technical Drafting in engineering, architecture, and/or industry. Knowledge of various CADD software products such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Civil 3D, and Plant 3D. Some knowledge of affiliated software products such as those found in the Adobe Creative Suite, Rhinoceros, Sketch Up Pro, Simplify 3D, and other related products to 3D modeling and printing.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting/Computer‑Aided Design Technology, Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, or Survey/GIS related fields and 5 years of related work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in the same fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in teaching. Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds. Successful college teaching experience. Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success. Knowledge of a learning college and/or learning communities. Experience teaching college‑level online learning management systems such as Blackboard or Canvas.

- Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline. Teach assigned courses in varied times and locations. Continuously improve instruction quality and develop teaching methods and materials to support students with diverse educational backgrounds, maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Evaluate students to measure progress toward course outcomes and grade‑appeals procedures; review and effectively use learning materials.
- Provide students with a written, accessible course syllabus in line with Course Syllabus Guidelines; maintain a classroom environment that promotes learning; hold scheduled virtual or physical office hours at least one hour daily, encouraging student conferences; assist with academic advising of declared majors and with marketing and recruitment initiatives.
- Review, evaluate, and revise program and institutional learning assessments to create action plans for systemic improvement, ensuring compliance with professional standards, state‑mandated guidelines, and industry higher‑education requirements.
- Participate in the self‑evaluation process; establish goals and objectives, including professional development plans, in consultation with the department chair; maintain competence through professional development and engagement activities.
- Accept special assignments as needed; participate in department, divisional, and college meetings; engage in college‑related activities such as registration, accreditation, and mission‑promoting community activities; assist in planning, goal formulation, and budget priorities.
