TERM INSTRUCTOR - COMMUNICATION, GENERAL (COMG) POOL

Job Summary: The successful applicant will provide quality instruction to address current events, skills, knowledge, and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of students.

Responsibilities:

• Teach courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need.
• Make continuous effort to advance the quality of instruction.
• Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
• Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials.
• Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the course syllabus guidelines and facilitates a clear understanding between student and instructor of content goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods and schedule of work.
• Hold scheduled, posted virtual or physical office hours of at least one (1) hour daily and be available for and encourage conferences with students to discuss student work.

Required Qualifications:

• Successful teaching experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or related field AND five (5) years of teaching experience.
• Organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor.
• Knowledge and ability in the teaching discipline.
• Commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success.
• Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds.
• Ability to plan a course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to insure course content and objectives are met.
• Proficiency in utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources, and other media.

Employment Details:

Faculty – Term position open to all applicants. Salary:
Minimum $58,760.00 (per 9 months). Position open until filled.
