Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the physical fitness teaching discipline. Teach assigned courses at various times and locations in response to institutional need and advance the quality of instruction. Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting course outcomes. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. Evaluate students to measure progress toward achievement of course outcomes and follow College grade and grade appeals procedures.
Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus Guidelines. Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning.
- Five (5) years related work experience.
- Ability to plan course instruction based upon an approved syllabus/outlines to insure course content and objectives are met.
- Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
- Ability to utilize instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
- Knowledge in physical fitness activities and techniques.
- Two (2) years teaching or training experience.
- Experience developing lesson plans and curriculum.

- Input final student grades into WebDMC.
- Submit final hard copies of daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department.
- Introduce students to the basic fundamentals of physical fitness activities and techniques, including instruction in conditioning activities involving cardiovascular strength, endurance, respiratory efficiency, muscular strength, and flexibility. Conditioning activities include but are not limited to tennis, racquetball, yoga, aerobics, and dance.
- Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
