ADJUNCT – HOSPITALITY:
The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Culinary Arts, Baking/Pastry, Hospitality Management or equivalent from an accredited school.
- Three (3) years experience in the field.
- Current Serv Safe Manager or Texas Certified Food Manager certification for lab instructors required to instruct Culinary and/or Baking/Pastry courses.
- Some courses require three (3) years supervisory experience in the hospitality field.
- Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success.
- Knowledge of a learning college and/or knowledge of learning communities.
- Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts or related field.
- Current American Culinary Federation Certification (For CHEF and PSTR courses).
- Experience teaching at the secondary or college level.
- Experience teaching college level online courses and/or documented successful training in a college online learning management system (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas).

- Ability to plan course instruction including lesson plans based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to ensure course content and objectives are met.
- Ability to use variety of teaching styles, methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles of students to achieve their educational goals and course outcomes.
