Retail Member Services Representative

Nueces Electric Cooperative (NEC) is looking for a Retail Member Services Representative to join our proactive retail electric division. This full‑time position reports to the Retail Operations Manager.

Position Summary and ResponsibilitiesThis role provides current and future members with immediate attention and assistance with NEC Co‑op Energy processes and services including new enrollment and answering billing and energy usage questions. The representative demonstrates competence and confidence while maintaining knowledge to advise members on electricity use, offers, billing, payments, and resolves any requests or complaints. They also provide support on office services such as electronic transaction processing.
PrimaryJob Functions
- Provide excellent member service in person or by phone, including new member enrollment, billing, and payments, while maintaining fiscal viability.
- Process EDI transactions and troubleshooting as required.
- Support financial processes including daily, month‑end, and year‑end reconciliation and reporting.
- Maintain smooth paper flow by reviewing service applications, keeping records for disconnects, account changes, rate assignments, and ensuring new members provide proper authorization and necessary fees.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of experience in utility billing, customer service call center, or related field.
- Proficient with standard office equipment and computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to learn to use computerized utility customer information systems.
- Strong attention to detail and capacity to multi‑task.
- Associate degree with up to three years of customer call center experience in billing or related area.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
