The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, equipment, and services required to support company operations. This role ensures cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, quality compliance, and strong supplier relationships while adhering to company policies and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities Procurement & Purchasing- Source, negotiate, and purchase goods and services in accordance with approved budgets and specifications
- Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely fulfillment
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to support operational
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service levels
- Resolve supplier performance issues related to quality, cost, or delivery
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply conditions to support informed purchasing decisions
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety
- Track spend and support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, and Project teams to understand requirements
- Ensure purchased items meet technical, quality, and safety standards
- Support project timelines by coordinating long‑lead or critical materials
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier documentation
- Support audits and internal controls related to procurement activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience (industry experience a plus)
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain processes
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel required)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience in commodities, oil & gas, mining, construction, or industrial environments
- Knowledge of contract terms, incoterms, and inventory management practices
- Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) a plus
