Job DescriptionTexas A Agri Life Research at Corpus Christi seeks a highly motivated Business Coordinator II who, under general supervision, provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment, including reviewing business documents and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and budget data.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with the unit primary accounts payable and purchasing contacts to assist in implementing and coordinating purchasing activities, including management of accounts payable, purchasing and requisition processing, payment card allocations, and statement reconciliation/verification.
- Monitor fiscal accounts.
- Reconcile monthly project and overhead account statements.
- Investigate errors in transactions and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Propose solutions to complex financial problems.
- Process departmental budget requests (D ) and departmental correction requests (DCR).
- Assist with coordinating annual fiscal year closing activities.
- Assist in processing the bi‑weekly and monthly payrolls in Workday for final processing by the Payroll department.
- Monitor and keep track of all hours worked by all wages and student workers to ensure compliance with Affordable Care Act, TRS, and maximum hour policies.
- Process payroll corrections and updates.
- Maintain unit’s business files and serve as records management coordinator.
- Work with the Administrative team in Corpus Christi and HR in College Station to ensure Agri Life and system policies are followed and assist faculty and staff with policy and procedure questions.
- Participate in hiring, orientation, and onboarding of staff and student workers.
- Liaise with human resources units to support hiring processes.
- Identify training and compliance needs, including all international paperwork and documentation.
- Assist with annual fiscal activities with minimal direct supervision.
- Secure and evaluate incoming mail, correspondence, and inquiries, distributing with instructions on action items as needed, and request services such as mail, pickup, and delivery.
- Maintain equipment, building, and livestock inventory records, processing requirements, and all necessary reports, transfers, deletions, and changes.
- Verify monthly vehicle use reports are complete and correct prior to submission to College Station.
- Make travel arrangements and complete travel requests and expense reports on Emburse as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position reports directly to the Business Administrator, Texas A Agri Life Research and Extension Center—Corpus Christi.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of related experience.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proactive critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
