• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Lift 25-60 lbs regularly and occasionally.

Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful customer service, assists customers, cleans shelves and display cases, fills and rotates the Meat Wrap displays. The clerk works with customers to take special orders and coordinates with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing and stooping for prolonged periods.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store. Physical requirements include lifting, standing, walking and kneeling; visual and auditory requirements apply. Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food.
