Role Summary
:
As a Service Production Supervisor, you are the heart of our service center's daily operations — the in-shop quarterback, coach, and strategist rolled into one. You will direct the flow of vehicles through the shop, make real-time decisions that drive production pace, and mentor technicians to foster a culture of excellence and collaboration. You will act as a master facilitator, ensuring the team has the parts, tools, and information needed to perform at their best.

- Lead & Develop Your Team
- Mentor, coach, and inspire a team of technicians, cultivating a high-performance culture built on collaboration, trust, and continuous learning.
- Actively manage team performance, provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and maintain an understanding of each member's strengths and development areas.
- Foster an inclusive Rivian culture where every team member feels valued, motivated, and empowered.
- Identify and nurture talent, create clear development paths, and provide hands-on training to elevate technical capabilities.
- Advocate for the team, ensure their needs are met and obstacles are removed.
- Lead by example, supporting any role or task necessary to ensure the team's success and service excellence.
- On-site cross-team collaboration (DMO/VO/Sales).
- Vendor relationship management (Amazon/DSP accounts).
- Communication: ensure participation in huddles and transparency on performance indicators.
- Orchestrate the Service Operation
- Own the daily production rhythm of the shop, from vehicle intake to final quality check, maximizing throughput and efficiency.
- Dynamically prioritize and assign workload, matching tasks to technician skill sets and shop capacity.
- Coordinate with Parts, Service Advisors, and other support teams to eliminate bottlenecks before they occur.
- Champion a first-principles approach to problem solving and continuously improve the service workflow.
- Ensure Peak Performance & Quality
- Monitor repair quality and cycle time to ensure each vehicle meets Rivian's standards and is returned on schedule.
- Analyze KPIs like technician productivity and shop efficiency to drive data-informed improvements.
- Uphold high safety and organizational standards, maintaining a world-class workshop.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical or logistical challenges, resolving issues promptly.
- Ensure proper documentation and accurate tech work order notes.
- Advocate for the customer voice and ensure feedback is considered by technicians throughout the service process.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume automotive service environment (e.g., Shop Foreman, Production Manager, or Lead Dispatcher).
- HS diploma or GED preferred.
- Deep technical acumen across modern vehicle systems, including high-voltage, electrical, mechanical, and infotainment domains.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles or workflow optimization in a service or production setting.
- Strong proficiency with digital tools, including dealership management systems (DMS), repair order tracking, and diagnostic software.
