Position Summary: The HR Director is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources function, aligning HR initiatives with the organization’s goals, and fostering a positive, high-performance workplace culture. This role provides leadership and guidance in talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborates with the Director of Staff Development to deliver and manage orientation programs for new staff.
- Ensure completion of new hire paperwork, including, but not limited to, I-9’s, background clearances, and pre-employment exams.
- Process and maintain clearances from the California Department of Public Health (DPH), Department of Social Services (DSS), California Department of Developmental Services, and the Department of Justice (DOJ).
- Responsible for managing the organization’s participation in the DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN) Program, including adding, updating, and monitoring employee driving records.
- Manage and optimize job postings on Indeed and other relevant boards.
- Tracks and monitors employee training progress, ensuring all required training is completed within designated time frames and following up as needed to maintain compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent practices.
- Participate in investigations of employee complaints, grievances, or disciplinary issues.
- Oversee employee leave of absences (LOAs), ensuring proper documentation, benefit continuation payments, compliance, and communication with staff.
- Submit and manage workers’ compensation claims, ensure the employee’s work assignments comply with medical restrictions or limitations, and communicate with employees and supervisors regarding employee restrictions and safe return-to-work procedures.
- Facilitate the interactive process to provide reasonable accommodation for employees, including meeting with employees and supervisors to identify the limitations, potential accommodations, and ensuring documentation is thorough and compliant with ADA regulations.
- Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee employee benefit administration, including ensuring accurate and timely benefit enrollment and eligibility.
- Ensure workplace safety and OSHA compliance, including overseeing safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations, monitoring workplace incidents, and ensuring timely reporting and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- A minimum of two bakery years related HR experience, at least one of these years in a management role
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal között regulations
- Must have demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining diverse employee talent, including creating and implementing recruitment strategies
- Exceptional project and personnel management skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point is essential
- Exhibit discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our senior management team
- Criminal clearance
- Clearance of physical examination, TB clearance, physical abilities test, and drug testing.
