Position: PERIOPERATIVE CARE TECH FT/MIDS

Overview

Perioperative Tech – Full-time/Nights position located at Corona Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Corona, CA.

Reporting to the OR-Surgery Director and OP-Manager to assist in and accompany patients in the admission, transfer, and discharge procedure. Assists in the preparation of beds for receiving admissions, returning surgical patients, transfers or emergencies. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information. Responds to patient and visitor questions and needs immediately. Adheres to patient safety and general safety guidelines. Demonstrates understanding of infection control: hand washing, use of gloves and personal protective equipment.

Uses hand washing gel/foams and decontamination of equipment prior to and after use. Knowledge of isolation protocols and PPE required. Assists with positioning and transfer of patients in the OR under direction of RN and/or MD.

The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center® began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus.

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Basic knowledge of good body mechanics.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of team members

Minimum Essential Experience

  • Two (2) year of recent general medical experience.

Required Licensure / Certifications

  • Current BLS certification required from American Heart Association.
