Construction Safety Advisor (Direct Hire)
Location: Southern California – field based with office in Corona, CA
Salary: $70,000–$85,000 annually (DOE)
Employment Type: Full‑Time | Direct Hire
We are seeking a seasoned Construction Safety Advisor to serve as a strategic and authoritative resource in promoting, enforcing, and continuously improving our company’s Safety Program. This role requires strong independent judgment, field credibility, and the ability to influence operational decisions, including job site shutdowns and disciplinary actions when safety risks are identified. The Safety Advisor will work closely with field staff, operations leadership, and external agencies to ensure compliance with company safety policies and Cal/OSHA regulations across all active job sites throughout Southern California.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct proactive job site safety audits and field observations across Southern California.
- Analyze audit findings and present clear, actionable safety recommendations to operations leadership.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and prepare detailed professional reports.
- Exercise independent judgment to address unsafe conditions, including the authority to stop work or shut down job sites when imminent hazards exist.
- Provide safety recommendations that may impact employee discipline or termination.
- Develop, review, and implement safe work procedures aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
- Conduct hazard analysis and facilitate job hazard awareness with field crews.
- Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external regulatory agencies.
- Deliver and facilitate safety and regulatory training, including Confined Space, Traffic Control, and Excavation Practices.
- Respond to after‑hours, weekend, or emergency safety incidents as needed.
- Analyze safety trends and metrics to support continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (required).
- 3–4+ years of progressive safety experience, preferably in construction, utilities, or industrial environments.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent, high‑impact safety decisions.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); MS Teams a plus.
- Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in rugged outdoor job sites and adverse weather conditions.
- Field‑based role with frequent travel to active job sites.
- Must be available for after‑hours and weekend response when safety incidents occur.
- Physically able to walk job sites and work outdoors.
- $70,000–$85,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
