Experience:
Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience preferred.
License:
Current Registered Nurse license required.
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification required.
Must-Have:
General ICU skill set is required.
Experience with critical care medications, insulin, vasopressors, sedation, and management of invasive lines (arterial and central venous pressure).
Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage ventilators.
Familiarity with blood product administration, wound care, and dressing changes.
Description:
This position requires working in an intensive care unit setting.
The unit consists of 33 beds and deals with a variety of patient diagnoses such as sepsis, ARDS, GI bleeds, DKA, cardiac arrest, withdrawal, and renal failure.
Patient ratios will be approximately 1:1 to 1:2 for RNs, with assistive staff providing support for daily living activities and mobility.
No trauma designation or chest pain center accreditation is present.
First-time travelers may be considered if they have strong experience.
Floating within the region is required, adhering to the scope of practice.
General scheduling will include a standard rotation with every other weekend and holiday work expectations.
The unit utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records and various advanced monitoring equipment.
All necessary support services including charge nurse availability and respiratory therapy are provided 24/7.
Travelers will be expected to work approximately 75% of holidays and can request up to 6 days off, not including holidays.
All staff must follow specific policies regarding orientation and departmental procedures.
