Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Cornelius, North Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to the financial success of the organization. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the overall accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with federal and state regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Oversee general ledger activities, including account analysis and adjustments.

- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.

- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement solutions.

- Respond to inquiries from auditors and regulatory bodies.

- Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for all accounting activities. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Familiarity with corporate tax regulations and filing processes.

- Experience with sales tax compliance and reporting.

- Proficiency in recording journal entries and general ledger management.

- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
