Job SummaryThe Supplemental Instructor for the Accounting Department at NCTC plays a crucial role in supporting the instructional efforts of teachers by providing additional assistance and guidance to students enrolled in historically difficult accounting courses in traditional and accelerated formats. This position aims to enhance student learning, foster a collaborative learning environment, and contribute to the overall success of students in their academic pursuits, including educational credentials and industry‑recognized certifications.
This is a part‑time position with no more than 19 hours a week.
Subject to criminal background check. Employees must reside in Texas or Oklahoma. Resume and unofficial transcript required in addition to application. Hourly rate – $23 hourly with no more than 19 hours a week. This is an entirely grant‑funded position based on the Corinth Campus.

Responsibilities and Duties- Conduct regular group study sessions to review course material, discuss challenging concepts, and provide additional clarification on accounting principles.
- Provide guidance and support to students as they work on homework assignments, practice problems, and other coursework.
- Assist students in preparing for exams by preparing review materials based on instructor lectures, reviewing key topics, practicing sample questions, and discussing effective study strategies.
- Conduct one‑on‑one consultations to address individual student questions, concerns, and difficulties with the course material.
- Maintain communication with the primary course instructor to stay informed about the course curriculum, assignments, and any changes.
- Attend lecture sessions at remote learning sites for student support.
- Develop supplementary materials such as study guides, practice quizzes, and worksheets to aid student comprehension and reinforce learning objectives.
- Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. With a B or higher in classes to be supporting.
Required Skills & Abilities- Strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students.
- Flexible hours to accommodate class schedules on and off campus and student schedules, including evenings and weekends.
- Work closely with the Accounting Department faculty to align supplemental instruction with course objectives.
Required Experience
- One (1) year of teaching or tutoring experience.
