Job Summary
Plant Tech III is responsible for operation, repairs, maintenance and adjustment of boilers, turbines, pumps, compressors, water lines, steam lines, valves and all related systems and equipment. The role requires working in industrial environments such as warehouses and equipment rooms of large buildings that run on boiler systems. Plant Tech III must work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
Department Specific Responsibilities- Monitors operations of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and plumbing
- Performs major or minor repairs on equipment and buildings
- Performs brazing, soldering and welding as necessary
- Recharges A/C system and refrigeration equipment, repairs or replaces components as required.
- Installation or repair of electrical devices, motors, light fixtures as required.
- Documents repairs, preventive maintenance and departmental forms as required.
- Knowledge of various tools and test equipment
- Repair and adjust types of remote and internal/external mechanical and electrical control devices.
- Monitors and maintains boilers
- Inspects fluid levels of boilers and other related equipment.
High school diploma or GED required.
ExperienceAt least 4 years of experience in commercial plumbing, pipe fitting, electrical, HVAC, or related fields is recommended.
Language/Communication SkillsEnglish required. Multilingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance manuals/instructions, schematic drawings, safety rules, policies and procedure manuals.
Mathematical SkillsPerforms mathematical calculations on a daily basis when checking readings. Must be able to immediately recall measurements and formulas to determine when parts of the systems are experiencing too much strain, which requires a good grasp of mathematics and the ability to make quick calculations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram from. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to make quick decisions to solve potential and existing problems which require decisive problem-solving skills.
