Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Cordova, Tennessee.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to the financial operations within the logistics industry. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in managing expense processes and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

- Process, audit, and reconcile travel and expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Utilize Emburse or similar software to manage expense workflows efficiently.

- Prepare and post journal entries related to expenses and accruals.

- Conduct detailed reviews of expense accounts and ensure proper documentation.

- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including account reconciliations.

- Analyze corporate and sales tax data to support tax reporting and compliance.

- Assist with corporate tax return preparation and related documentation.

- Maintain accurate records for expense accruals and reconciliations.

- Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and reporting.

- Provide regular updates on expense-related activities to management. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax, sales tax, and tax reporting.

- Strong proficiency in using Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.

- Familiarity with expense management systems such as Emburse or Concur.

- Knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.

- Ability to analyze and reconcile expense accounts effectively.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively within a team.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
