Warehouse Helper​/Scanner

Position: Warehouse Helper / Scanner
Union Compress Warehouse of Cordele (UCWC), the largest independent cotton warehouse in the Southeast, is currently hiring for a full time Warehouse Worker/Scanner for the corrugated box division.

Under daily supervision, the Scanner is responsible for operating electronic scanning equipment to properly match serial numbers to product to ensure an accurate selection process.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming shipments, compare vendor inventory sheet to product received, and help resolve inaccuracies.
• Place identifying labels on appropriate area of bundles.
• Verify that each of the bundles pulled match the bundles listed on the pick ticket.
• Alert the warehouse team to any discrepancies in the bundles received.
• Enter the trailer number into the scanner and ensure that the right bundles are loaded onto the right trailer.

Requirements:

• Overtime will be required during the busy season; must be willing to work Saturdays from May - July.
• Safe and efficient work is expected.
• Must be able to learn quickly and work accurately at all times.
• Basic computer skills are needed.
• Must be able to perform repetitive, fast-paced work on a daily basis.
• Will be required to stand for long periods of time and walk to multiple warehouses.
• Will work in hot and cold weather conditions.
• Local candidates only.
