ABOUT THE JOB

As part of the plant's executive management team, the Operations Manager II will manage and direct employees in daily production activities to meet customer requirements and maximize operational effectiveness. The role also ensures the consistent production of high‑quality products that meet all QA standards and guarantees that all work is performed safely and responsibly by following safety rules and procedures.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
  • Manage and develop the production team, fostering our R.A.P.I.D.S. core values and trusted resource brand.
  • Coordinate activities with inventory, supply chain, maintenance, and SHE regulatory departments for production campaign planning, startup, SOP review, close‑out, problem solving, and incident investigation.
  • Communicate with active toll customers about production campaigns, plant tours, and inspections.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of QA methodology to ensure all quality requirements are met.
  • Create and manage training across all production phases, including equipment operation, safety, packaging, line troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Understand reporting requirements in OPM and Kronos for labor tracking.
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting for labor tracking, product costing, and batch activities.
  • Produce budget results for the assigned product area, managing resource allocation, risk, efficiencies, and overall cost control.
  • Assume responsibility for safety performance, regulatory compliance, quality performance, and production efficiency.
  • Analyze throughput rates and on‑stream time to achieve maximum operational results.
  • Review utilization rates by area and product, recommending improvements to processing as needed.
  • Develop and meet plant operation budgets.
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Manage other team members.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Perform other work‑related duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Maintain reliable attendance.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, science, or engineering field and five years of industrial manufacturing experience, including three years in management, OR high‑school diploma and twelve years of related work experience, including five in management, is required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to handle simultaneous projects.
  • Prioritizes work effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Knowledgeable of contract requirements, quality control requirements, technical data, and formula blending.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • May be required to pass OSHA respirator physical.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license to drive a company vehicle.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required.
  • Communication in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.

Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.
