Physical Therapist Assistant - PRN role at Crisp Regional Health Services
Position SummaryUnder the leadership of the departmental Director and/or Manager, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is an active member of the interdisciplinary team providing high-quality patient care. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA must be able to collaborate with other professional disciplines as well as interact with the patient, family members, and significant others.
BasicQualifications
- Education:
Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. - Experience:
Up to one year of work‑related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a hospital and/or skilled nursing facility setting preferred. - Licensure, Registrations &
Certifications:
Requires a current state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Requires a current certification in Basic Life Support.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapists’ treatment plan in the acute care and/or skilled nursing facility setting. May provide treatments in additional settings including but not limited to home health at the discretion of the department Director.
- Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.
- Records daily treatment notes and other required documentation timely and completely.
- Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.
- Supervises Physical Therapy Aides in direct patient care and related activities as requested.
- Meeting production requirements for physical therapy rendered as defined by the organization.
- Complies with the Georgia State Physical Therapy Practice Act.
- Assumes responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of CRHS’s efforts to provide quality care and services. Performs all associated duties, responsibilities, and tasks.
- Presents a professional image to CRHS’s co‑workers, clinical and medical staff members, patients, families, and visitors.
- Attends professional development programs and in‑service training and meets the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.
