Repairs and maintains diesel and gas powered off-road equipment including agricultural tractors, construction equipment, stationary engines, various harvesters, and portable irrigation pumps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all types of troubleshooting and repairs to powered off-road equipment. This includes gas and diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, A/C systems, and computer systems.
- Use analyzers and other computer-based software to troubleshoot all aspects of vehicle function.
- Drive to the field and work independently and complete assigned tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak in English; knowledge of Spanish is desired.
- Be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematics, both electrical and hydraulic, and procedure manuals.
- Be able to take verbal and written direction from supervisors and effectively communicate back.
- Be able to complete detailed maintenance reports and other technical documents.
- Be able to communicate and work with coworkers.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Must be observant, organized, and detail oriented.
- Must function well in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have desire and ability to learn.
- Must work in a safe manner following all rules, guidelines, and company policies.
- Must report to work in a timely manner ready, willing, and able to perform the essential duties.
- High school/GED equivalent.
- 1.5 year Diesel Tech School or equivalent desired.
- diesel tech certification preferred.
- Valid current California Drivers' license, with less than two points, required before hire and continuously while employed.
- EPA approved 608 Technician Certification for Air Conditioning, desired.
