Birmingham, Derby, Corby
Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hour week)
As a UK Procurement Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the procurement of Arvato's Facilities & Engineering Departments. Your typical day‑to‑day duties will include meeting with suppliers, working on tenders RFI's and RFQ's, implementing supplier agreements, negotiating contracts, and working with internal stakeholders as a dotted line into the Head of Facilities & Engineering. You will be responsible for creating the category strategy and aligning with the group approach.
You will represent procurement at a UK and European level within your categories to build partnerships, introduce new suppliers and implement new ways of working.
- Work closely with the Facilities & Engineering Team and take ownership and accountability of category strategy.
- Preparation and execution of tenders, RFIs for facilities & engineering.
- Consolidate existing suppliers and source new products and materials.
- Negotiate and implement supplier agreements.
- Conduct supplier commercial negotiations.
- Work with key suppliers to improve service levels and potential group growth.
- Build relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of change.
- Be accountable for achieving agreed targets and objectives.
- Drive process standardisation and simplification.
- Manage supplier OTIF, troubleshoot associated service issues, and lead escalations.
- Promote sustainability standards throughout the Arvato and supplier supply chains.
- Experience in facilities management & engineering MRO procurement within an FMCG environment, ideally warehousing and logistics.
- Hands‑on experience with end‑to‑end RFI, RFQ and tender delivery.
- Experience with in business process design is advantageous.
- Evidence of success within supplier consolidation programmes.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Able to create strategic and tactical plans.
- Good influencer and able to work well with stakeholders.
- A working knowledge of project management.
- Ability to balance priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills – clear and concise, written and verbal.
- Experience with performance management and reporting.
- Problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Good IT skills and a working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
