You'll play a key part in developing bespoke equipment and systems that are built to a high standard and tailored to customer needs.

What You'll Be Doing- Creating 3D models of components and assemblies using Inventor
- Producing clear, accurate 2D drawings for laser cutting, welding, and assembly
- Preparing AutoCAD LT layouts
- Writing product manuals and technical documentation
- Performing engineering calculations and finite element analysis
- Ensuring all designs meet relevant ISO and Health & Safety standards
- Building product structures and BoMs in Sage X3
- Supporting the development of new products through research, testing, and validation
- Working closely with production, purchasing, service, and sales to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and ready for manufacture
- Visiting customer sites when required to support real-world applications
You ll start by getting hands-on with the product range and shaping designs for the company s core equipment. Over your first year, you ll gradually move into larger, more complex projects—eventually playing a key role in creating completely new products that align with future sales strategies.
Who We're Looking ForYou ll be a practical problem-solver with an eye for detail and a passion for turning ideas into engineered solutions. The ideal person will have:
Essential- Experience designing machinery, sheet-metal parts, and/or machined components
- Strong 3D modelling skills (Inventor or similar)
- 2D drafting experience (AutoCAD)
- Confident engineering calculation ability
- Good communication skills and the ability to build strong internal relationships
- Strong organisational skills and great attention to detail
- A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Flexibility and a positive, “can-do” approach
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing environment
- Understanding of risk analysis and machinery directives
- Full UK driving licence
