We are hiring a Restoration Warehouse Mechanic at SERVPRO of Port Jefferson, Stony Brook
.

As the front‑line representative of the SERVPRO® brand, the Restoration Warehouse Mechanic coordinates, monitors, and performs work activities on projects to successfully fulfill service needs and facilitate a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform production processes as scheduled and ensure quality control.
  • Manage the customer and client experience and overall satisfaction, tracked with online reviews.
  • Communicate clear expectations to restoration technicians and supervise their activities.
  • Document a detailed and accurate job file to support the services provided.
  • Manage labor and consumable item usage on assigned projects.
  • Communicate with restoration project manager and office staff on project progress and issues.
  • Work Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm with occasional extended hours in busier seasons.
  • Travel to jobsites and work on‑site when needed.
  • Maintain, repair, and inventory equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly warehouse.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Communicate and follow all OSHA guidelines for job safety.
  • Manage assets by protecting and using equipment and materials properly.
  • Coach and train restoration technicians.
  • Work with a variety of specifications such as drawings, sketches, and technical documents and directives.
  • Undergo required physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, or crawling as needed.
  • Use own tools and toolbox.
  • Possess knowledge of dehumidifiers, heaters, fans, generators, mobile equipment vehicles, industrial forklifts, man lifts, sweepers, and wheel loaders.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems using schematics.
Position Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience in cleaning, restoration, or construction.
  • IICRC certification is a plus, not required.
Skills / Physical Demands / Competencies
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, and work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics).
  • Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
  • Ability to work with or around cleaning agents.
