Location: Coralville, IA Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 2pm-10pm Assignment Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Weekends: Every other weekend required
Position Overview
A Corrections Registered Nurse is needed for an immediate 13-week contract in Coralville, IA. This role is ideal for an RN who is confident working in a secure facility, can adapt quickly, and is comfortable providing high-quality care in a corrections environment. You'll join a supportive team and play a vital role in patient care within the facility.
Compensation
- Local RN: $58/hour
- Travel RN: $2,606/week
- Travel status requires permanent residence 50+ miles from the facility.
- 2nd shift: 2pm-10pm
- 8-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Active RN license (IA or compact)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (corrections experience preferred but not required)
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to pass background and compliance screenings
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Provide nursing care to incarcerated individuals
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and respond to medical needs
- Collaborate with onsite medical and security staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility protocols
- Ensure safety and compliance within a secure environment

Minimum Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
- Minimum of one year of correctional health care experience preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
