Front Desk Clerk – Hotel Equities

. The position is part of Home2 Suites by Hilton at 740 Coral Ridge Ave, Coralville, IA.
$15.00/hr - $17.00/hr
Job PurposeProvide a warm, courteous experience to arriving, departing, and in‑house guests by delivering accurate and timely service and information. Maintain professionalism in telephone and in‑person interactions regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.
Responsibilities- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, verify reservations, address, and credit information, and register guests into the computer system.
- Promote and provide recognition for the “preferred” guest program to all current members.
- Accept and process payments for guests’ accounts at registration and checkout; manage daily cash bank deposits and accurate reporting of receipts.
- Issue keys, control entrance, and provide safety deposit box access as requested.
- Post miscellaneous charges and complete all required post‑services during each shift.
- Respond promptly and professionally to telephone inquiries, ensuring courteous and friendly communication.
- Handle reservations accurately, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
- Perform check‑ins and check‑outs in a friendly, thorough, and efficient manner.
- Resolve guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional fashion.
- Assist guests with luggage, wake‑up calls, messages, and other service requests.
- Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with safety programs, Health Department requirements, and job safety analysis.
- Support kitchen and restaurant areas by enforcing sanitation laws and safety standards.
- Promote hotel amenities and services, including upselling rooms, re‑rents, and available outlet inventory.
- Maintain effective communication with all departments and keep open lines of contact.
- Follow all applicable Company Standard Operating Procedures and complete additional assignments as directed by the General Manager.
- High School diploma, secondary qualification, or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in the primary workplace language.
- Basic computer skills and numerical competency for cash handling and reporting.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods (up to 4 hours) and lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Good problem‑solving, reasoning, and customer‑service skills.
- Passion for people and service and a positive, professional attitude toward coworkers and guests.
