The Tax Manager will play a key leadership role in managing client relationships, overseeing tax compliance, and supporting internal staff. This position requires a hands-on approach to complex tax returns while ensuring smooth operations during tax season. You will manage a portfolio of clients, supervise staff, and collaborate closely with partners to maintain high-quality service.

• Oversee tax return preparation, including complex individual and business returns.
• Supervise and support internal staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Collaborate closely with partners to maintain and enhance client relationships.
• Ensure smooth operations during tax season by effectively managing resources and priorities.

• Expertise in tax, accounting, payroll tax, income tax, and state tax.
• Experience with general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax laws.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• CPA license preferred; EA designation or active pursuit of CPA considered.
• 5+ years of tax experience, including individual and business returns.

The work environment consists of a team of 10 in-office staff, with an additional 5-7 seasonal employees during the peak 4.5 months. The office is based in Coralville, and the firm serves clients throughout Iowa. There is a possibility of expanding to a second location. The firm provides a supportive atmosphere where people make time for one another, allowing for strong client relationships and opportunities for growth.

This is a Permanent position based out of Coralville, IA.

The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
