Controller - Real Estate Development -CPA

Position

Controller for commercial real estate portfolio and developer of commercial properties. ONSITE at our Coral Gables offices.

• Oversee all financial operations and accounting activities for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, cash flow reports, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage and optimize budgets, forecasts, and financial planning for the company's real estate assets.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and real estate accounting standards

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
  , ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
• Utilize and oversee Yardi for financial reporting and property accounting functions.
• Provide leadership and guidance on tax strategies, audits, and compliance matters
  .
• Work closely with property managers, investors, and executive leadership to align financial strategies with business objectives.

• CPA certification is required
  .
• 5+ years of public accounting experience
  , followed by experience in commercial property management accounting
  .
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate accounting principles
  .
• Proficiency in Yardi, Quick Books, or SAGE 300 - Timberline
  .
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate across departments.
