Woolpert is hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineering Team Leader to join our dynamic team. This position would be aligned with our office in Coral Gables, FL and would support full-time in-person or hybrid working arrangements. This position reports to the Buildings Engineering Discipline Leader and is responsible for leading engineering projects and teams, supporting strategic and KPI goals, contributing to proposals, overseeing project scope, schedule, and fee, and ensuring effective resources are assigned to projects.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage teams and multiple tasks simultaneously. This role includes performing mechanical engineering technical work on complex projects, mentoring staff, applying proficiency in designing, analyzing, and reviewing MEP/FP systems to ensure safety, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards; directing plan production and technical staff, reviewing design calculations, promoting the growth of the team, and assisting teams with a variety of engineering projects.

As a Mechanical Engineering Team Leader at Woolpert, you will:

• Lead mechanical HVAC engineering technical work for complex projects.
• Track project progress, including scope, schedule, and fee.
• Develop and modify models, plans, details, and drawings of mechanical and plumbing engineering systems and components according to established standards and modeling techniques.
• In-depth knowledge for team guidance of energy modeling, load calculations, and LCCA analysis using modeling software and techniques.
• In-depth knowledge for team guidance of mechanical design for various systems including plant design, fuel piping, steam systems, boilers, cooling towers/chillers, geothermal, and other.
• Support career development and technical skill advancement of team members.

• Lead, manage, motivate, mentor and inspire a team of Mechanical Engineers.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MA/MS in related field and fifteen (15) years related experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
• 10 or more years of experience leading and managing a team of engineers (direct reports).
