The Department of Philosophy in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure‑track) or Associate Professor (tenure‑eligible), to begin August 15, 2026. Area of Specialization (AOS):
Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence. The department is looking for someone who will teach and pursue an active research program focused on artificial intelligence but welcomes applications from candidates approaching this topic from a variety of subfields in philosophy. Candidates working in more than one area of specialization are especially encouraged to apply. Area of Competence (AOC):
Open. We seek a promising scholar who will pursue a vigorous research program, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and take a full part in the normal activities of the department.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy with an emphasis on artificial intelligence.
• Develop and pursue an active research program in philosophy and AI.
• Publish scholarly work and present at conferences.
• Participate in departmental and university service activities.

• Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree) in philosophy or a closely related field by the appointment start date.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
• Strong record of research in philosophy with relevance to artificial intelligence.
• Experience or interest in interdisciplinary work at the intersection of philosophy and AI.
