Alpha Net, Inc. is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with grant, clinical trial, and restricted fund requirements. This role plays a critical part in month-end and year-end close activities, financial statement preparation, and internal reporting. The Senior Accountant works collaboratively to maintain financial integrity and transparency across multiple non-profit entities.
Key Responsibilities- Close monthly intercompany expenses and ensure accurate allocation and reconciliation across multiple organizations.
- Prepare and post year-end allocation journal entries and year-end adjusting journal entries.
- Accurately accrue long-term grants in the accounting system (Blackbaud).
- Review AP/AR ageing reports to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Review credit card statements and identify expenses requiring accrual.
- Record and reconcile vacation accruals at fiscal year-end.
- Manage depreciation schedules and related journal entries.
- Work closely with Foundation staff on grants administration, including accruals and reporting.
- Prepare detailed accounting and reporting for the Clinical Trial Sponsor.
- Run and review restricted fund reports to ensure compliance with donor and grant requirements.
- Maintain accurate project accounting related to grants and restricted funding.
- Record and reconcile deferred revenue and prepaid expenses.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper classification and reconciliation.
- Maintain project accounts to align with program and grant structures.
- Transfer and reconcile financial data from RAMP into Financial Edge (FE).
- Ensure data integrity across Blackbaud, Excel, and other accounting software programs for all three companies.
- Assist in preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for Board review and approval.
- Support audits, reviews, and compliance activities by preparing samples and requested documentation.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across all entities to support financial planning, reporting, and compliance needs.
- Contributes to the enhancement of accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, master’s degree in accounting preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
- Experience with Blackbudget Financial Edge and RAMP.
