Position: CNC Milling Programmer / Machinist

About the Job:

Mahler Machining is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Machinist
. This is a full-time position on our Day Shift 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (opportunities for overtime as desired).

Candidates must be confident taking new parts from drawing to a finished component handling all programing, setting and when proving out new parts operatingwhile working with tight tolerances (microns to 5 thou) across a range of material types. We are seeking an experienced hire with a minimum of 5 years CNC milling Programing and Setting experience
. Ideal candidates will have strong experience programing and setting on horizontal milling machines.

This position offers competitive pay based on experience. The range for this position is $33-38/hr before bonus opportunities and comes with a great benefits package.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC vertical milling and Horizontal milling centers.
  • Use Gibbs Cam to develop efficient tool paths and machining and fixturing strategies.
  • Machine parts from a range of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, titanium, plastics, brass and many more.
  • Inspect machined parts against technical drawings recording measurements in ERP.
  • Produce detailed setup instructions for first time setups inside Pro Shop ERP.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and machine.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to support other machinists and operators.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC milling Programing and Setting experience.
  • Experience working with tight tolerances (microns to 5 thou).
  • Experience working with a range of materials (aluminum, mild steel, stainless, exotics).
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and teamwork.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with, or be willing to learn Gibbscam.

About our Milling Department:

Our milling department boats eleven CNC machines including 7 Mazak’s, 2 Haas, and one YCM. This includes a mix of 3, 4 and 5 axis verticals and horizontals milling machines covering a wide capability set for milling small and medium sized parts all the way up to parts 84” in length. All of our mills are equipped with through spindle coolant, chip conveyors and in machine part and tool probing.

Milling programing is predominantly done through Gibbscam (or on occasion conversationally in Mazatrol).
