In-Home Caregiver – Part-time / Casual
About Com For Care : 💙At Com For Care Home Care, we help clients stay safe, independent, and enjoy life. As a caregiver, you’ll provide companionship, daily support, and personal care—making a real difference every day.
Areas We Serve:Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, and some areas of Burnaby and New Westminster, as well as West Vancouver and North Vancouver. We are looking forward to expanding our services in West and North Vancouver. 😊
Who We’re Looking For:- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required. Applicants who speak an additional language (e.g., Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi, etc.) must also be fully fluent in that language, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- We proudly serve a diverse community. Some clients prefer care in their native language, while family members and our office communicate primarily in English. Caregivers must communicate clearly and professionally with clients, family members, and the Com For Care team.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada (proof required: passport, PR card, or work permit).
- Live locally to the areas we serve.
- Valid BC driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Health Care Assistant or Care Aid qualification preferred. Do you have a number with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry? Let us know and include your number on your resume!
* If you have care-giving certification, your application will be considered for being a Certified Caregiver. If you do not have certification but are passionate about providing care and companionship, your application will be considered for the Companion Caregiver role (please note that pay is based on certification and experience).
Requirements to work with vulnerable clients:- Up-to-date vaccinations (must include: Flu, COVID-19, Hep B, Tdap, MMR, Varicella)
- Negative TB test results
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (you can get this from the RCMP in the town/city you live in. We do not accept online background checks.)
- Assist with daily living, personal care, meals, mobility, and light housekeeping.
- Provide companionship: chatting, walking, playing games, watching TV.
- Give families short breaks (respite care).
- Keep accurate records and represent Com For Care professionally.
- Respect and recognition for your work.
- Training and ongoing development.
- Support in the field.

$18 – $20/hr (based on experience and qualifications)
