We're looking for a skilled 4th Class Power Engineer to join our Maintenance team. This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours/week), primarily on night shift, with flexibility for overtime and on-call requirements as needed.

Candidates must hold a valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate or greater and be registered with Technical Safety BC (TSBC) as a 4th Class or 3rd Class Power Engineer. These qualifications are mandatory for this role and candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered in the selection process.

Schedule:
Sunday to Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30am

What You'll Do:

  • Operate and monitor boilers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, and plant utility systems while ensuring regulatory compliance under TSBC requirements.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, log readings, boiler blowdowns, water tests, and chemical testing and treatment adjustments.
  • Respond promptly to boiler alarms and utility system deviations, troubleshooting production and processing equipment issues as they arise.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, minor repairs, equipment inspections, and servicing of air systems, filters, and dust collectors.
  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement department to identify proactive opportunities for operational efficiency and system optimization.
  • Support Millwrights and other trades as needed and complete maintenance reports and work documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow all SOPs, cGMP standards, and safety policies including Lockout and Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

What You Bring:

  • Valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate or greater (BC or Inter-Provincial). (Required)
  • Active registration with TSBC as a 4th Class or 3rd Class Power Engineer. (Required)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in continuous steam boiler operation and utility systems maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of steam systems, air compressors, vacuum pumps, and related support equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, water treatment, and boiler chemistry.
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • GMP knowledge, forklift certification, and mechanical cross-training are all considered assets.
  • Ability to work night shift, overtime, and respond to on-call requirements.
