We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Water Resources Engineer to join our dynamic Water Resources team. This role involves the design, analysis, and reporting of stormwater management systems with a focus on subdivision development projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, be capable of mentoring junior team members, and effectively coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, analyze, and review stormwater management strategies for land development projects.
- Perform stormwater modeling and simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., PCSWMM, HEC-RAS).
- Prepare and review stormwater management sections of engineering reports, including Functional Servicing Reports (FSR), Master Environmental Servicing Plans (MESP), Detailed Stormwater Management Reports, due diligence, and associated documentation.
- Design and assess stormwater quantity and quality control measures, outlet structures, water balance, volume control, and Low Impact Development (LID) solutions.
- Support project delivery by monitoring schedules and deliverables to meet critical deadlines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams (environmental, geotechnical, hydrogeological, fluvial, etc.) to ensure project integration and compliance.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and EITs.
- Respond to review comments from municipal or agency stakeholders and assist in the preparation of response packages.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus on Water Resources.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (or eligibility for licensing within 6 months).
- 4+ years of progressive experience in water resources engineering, with at least 2 years focused on stormwater management for subdivisions and/or site plans.
- Proficient in PCSWMM and familiar with other stormwater modeling software such as VO, HEC-RAS, etc.
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite, with a focus on Excel.
- Familiarity with municipal design standards and approval processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-driven, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with innovative low-impact development (LID) or green infrastructure solutions.
- Familiarity with GIS tools or advanced hydrologic/hydraulic modeling techniques.
- Participation in software development or automation for water resources workflows.
