Position Summary

As a Project Superintendent, you will provide overall leadership for mass timber, framing, and hybrid construction projects from early planning and constructability review through project completion and handover. You will oversee and coordinate all on-site personnel, including Foremen, safety, carpenters, labourers, and shop personnel, as required. You will champion the implementation of company processes and standards, contributing to continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality, and company culture.

You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day coordination of trade partners to ensure work is executed to a high standard, aligns with the approved project schedule, and fosters strong, professional relationships with owners, general contractors, and trade partners.

Key Accountabilities
  • Providing overall site leadership for mass timber construction projects, including supervision of Foremen, self‑performed crews, and trade partners.
  • Developing and executing the construction plan, sequencing mass timber erection, lifting operations, and trade coordination.
  • Ensuring site activities align with project goals, contractual requirements, and company standards.
  • Reviewing and coordinating mass timber shop drawings, lifting and rigging plans, and installation procedures.
  • Ensuring materials are received, stored, protected, and installed in compliance with approved documents and specifications.
  • Coordinating labour, equipment, deliveries, and trade sequencing to meet milestones and minimize delays.
  • Developing, maintaining, and actively driving the project schedule, including critical path activities.
  • Proactively identifying schedule risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Championing a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Overseeing hazard assessments, safe work procedures, lifting plans, and high‑risk activities.
  • Establishing and enforcing quality expectations across all site activities.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors, suppliers, and trade partners.
  • Managing the deficiency and warranty activities required at current and former sites.

Experience and Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in construction, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Postsecondary construction education is an asset.
  • A strong understanding of construction techniques, labour scheduling, and cost control methods.
  • Strong people skills, excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Experience in or a drive to learn about Mass Timber.
  • Capability of successfully running projects independently and without direct management.
