The Software Engineer II, Data will build and scale the data lake that collects, processes, and transforms financial data at global scale, enabling real‑time insights for both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities- Create a scalable data lake that ingests financial data from Blackhawk’s global business platforms and delivers real‑time insights.
- Design, architect, and build a best‑in‑class data platform with high performance, accuracy, and quality.
- Develop visualization and data intelligence tools to empower users to derive powerful business insights, collaborating with product, engineering, and business teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of data engineering experience and 2+ years of software development experience.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, and large‑scale data processing.
- Experience with data pipeline management, ETL, data warehousing, data mining, modeling, and reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, and data pipeline tools.
- Self‑starter who collaborates and can acquire knowledge independently.
- Must be able to work in the Coppell, TX office two days per week.
- Experience with modern data pipeline tools such as Fivetran and dbt.
- Experience with microservices, API‑based integration, event‑driven architecture, and data lake/warehouse tools like Iceberg, Snowflake.
- Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM).
- Experience with Postgres, Prefect, and Dev Ops tools (Linux, Git Lab, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform).
- Experience with SQL optimization.
